There's been a lot of hate going this week about Black Friday, it's push for overconsumption and a call to boycott. But we have a problem with that for a few good reasons. One, brands offering a discount does not inherently mean people are over buying. Two, it excludes many people who need the financial help to buy thoughtful gifts for their loved ones during the holiday season. Finally, three, it doesn't consider the fact that many wonderful ethical and sustainable brands offer discounts as well. So like in all things in life, we have a choice. Here's 3 ways to shop sustainably this Black Friday without breaking the bank.
When starting on your sustainable fashion journey, there are many excellent resources that can fast track your knowledge so you know how to shop and who to trust. Here's a handful of books to get you started OR gift to your loved one.
Always on the lookout for ethical and sustainable brands at more affordable prices to help you dollar go further and impact more people, today we're doing a gift roundup from a wonderful (new to us) brand that we just discovered has a Sample Sale page for the rescued materials and damaged items they've refurbished to keep out of landfill, and they just happen to all make excellent gifts and stocking stuffers.
