THR3EFOLD exclusively works with factories certified by industry accepted ethical certifications. We do this because these organizations and businesses are already on the ground, thoroughly auditing these factories, checking in regularly, and have an understanding of the local culture, laws, and climate the workers need to be uplifted. So what is it these certifications are actually checking anyways? Here’s the basic rundown of what most ethical certifications stand by: 1 | No Child Labor
No worker is 15 years of age or under. Additionally, any young worker, within legal student age, cannot work during school hours or during night hours. 2 | Living Wage Wages shall provide the basic needs of the worker and some discretionary income and be delivered in a timely manner. 3 | No Forced Labor Workers are willingly working and can leave at any time. Including any overtime hours being completely voluntary and paid appropriate overtime wages as defined by the government. 4 | Safe & Healthy Workplace Environment Factory will eliminate or minimize hazardous working conditions wherever possible and provide aid for any injured workers. In addition, factories will remain free of supervisory or co-worker harassment, abuse, or discrimination. 5 | The Right to Unions The factory will respect the worker’s right to form and/or join a trade union to protect their rights and treatment. 6 | Eco-Conscious Factories will reduce waste when possible and strive to lower their environmental footprint. These ethical manufacturing certification standards get complicated fast. Trying to sort through them all yourself and choose a factory you can trust can be overwhelming. THR3EFOLD is here to make it easy for you. To be an ethical fashion brand, reach out to us to have an introductory conversation and get matched with your ideal factory. Comments are closed.
