By Jessica Kelly, Founder of THR3EFOLD Confession time. Entrepreneurs talk a lot about the hustle and creating change, myself included, but they accidentally can make you feel like if you're not starting a company you're missing the mark. So not true. Not everyone is called to entrepreneurship, and to be honest, that's great. Creating change from within an existing company is called being an intrapreneur. And here's 3 reasons why you should be stoked to change fashion from inside a big corporate machine. 1 | More Influence
There are so many big, successful, influential brands out there and they need good people working for them to make those hard ethically-sound decisions where they may not currently be concerned. As those changes get rolled out, the whole industry is watching along with their customers. It's an opportunity to bring light to needed issues, shift the conversation, and ultimately allow others to follow suit. 2 | More Resources Fashion is an over saturated industry these days. Couple that with how expensive it is to grow and scale a profitable brand it can be an uphill battle to create real change. Why not really make an impact from the inside, like a chic Trojan horse? Packed with a full salary, team, and budget you can come in guns blazing and really shift the industry. 3 | More Impact Starting a company also means it will be a while before you are able to really start making a huge impact for the demographic you're trying to help. By being an intrapreneur within a large corporation, everything matters immediately. The factory you order from, the materials you source, the way you recycle scrap fabric and past samples. You already have a big footprint ready to make a difference. You may already be in a position of authority or you may need to work up the ladder a bit before you can start making changes, but don't be afraid to start gathering the ethical factory contacts, and strategies now that you think could best impact your company. By putting plans in place you can turn some heads and maybe even get a chance to move things forward. Want to talk ethical manufacturing options for your big brand?
